Easy Apple Galette

Updated: Jan 4, 2020

Whenever I want to make an easy and fast dessert I think about galettes. There are many reasons behind this: you can make it with many types of fruits or other fillings, like chocolate, you can make the dough in a food processor and since they look great with a rustic finish you don't have to worry too much about the shape.

This time we bring you an apple galette - but remember you can make it with any fruits you have at home. It's also a fun dessert to make with kids, or create mini galetts or baskets in cupcake molds!

Ingredients:

For the dough:

2 cups Flour

2 tbsp. Brown Sugar

1 tbsp. Flaxseed, grounded

1/4 cup Butter or coconut oil

8 tbsp. Cold water

For the filling:

2 Apples, sliced

2 tbsp. Brown Sugar

1 tsp. Cinnamon

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 180ºC/200ºF.

2. For the dough, mix all ingredients in a food processor and pulse, start adding water until the dough is soft and elastic.

3. Remove from processor and knead slightly, form a ball.

4. Line a baking sheet with baking paper or foil and roll the batter with a pinroll or with your hands forming an irregular shape (we made a rectangle for this one).

5. Arrange the apples on the middle of the dough and cover with brown sugar and cinnamon. Fold the rim of the dough to the inside.

6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until apples are tender and dough is golden. Serve with ice cream.
